Get A Grip
DCC SUMMER JURIED 2023

Get A Grip
Call for Entries Due June 30, 2023
Show Runs July 7 - August 4, 2023
For Get A Grip, we want to see how you incorporate handles and grips into your ceramics! Current District Clay artists, students, and teachers are encouraged to submit pottery and sculpture that feature handles to the show. These handles may be functional and/or decorative, and we will jury submissions ranging from mugs and pitchers to ceramic sculptures that feature handles.

Think about the different ways you can interpret handles - does your piece incorporate knobs for lifting it up? Is your handle disguised as something else? Have you created a sculpture with intentional grips to lift it and/or transport it? We would love to see how creatively you can interpret this prompt!

Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Most Creative Handle, & Most Ergonomic Handle.

To apply, you must be a current DCC artist, student, or teacher. Submissions may include any ceramic piece featuring a handle(s) made at District Clay Center. Submissions will be juried by Creative Director Connor Czora and Studio Manager Nicole Ponce.
