Accessibility

COVID-19:

2024: At DCC we prioritize the health and well-being of our community members. In response to the ongoing public health situation, we value the diverse needs and choices of our community members. In recognition of individual preferences and public health considerations, we have implemented a Supportive Mask-Wearing Policy to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. Mask wearing will continue to be voluntary.

  • Masks are available at the front door of the studio.
  • We require that participants certify they have received initial vaccinations before attending a class, workshop or event at DCC.
  • To see our timeline of DCC COVID-19 Guidelines, go here.

Important Note About Pacemakers:

Our Shimpo wheels (blue) may be harmful to a person who has a pacemaker. Shimpo's website states:

"
Warning: This product may be harmful to a person who has a pacemaker. Serious injury or death could occur. Consult a physician before using."

If you are an interested student and have a pacemaker, we have 2 Brent wheels (Dijon mustard-colored) available for use. We also offer classes that don't use the wheel. Look for our Hand-building and Casting classes online.

Click here to learn more from Shimpo's website.

Physical Accessibility:

Entrances:
  • Our studio has 3 steps up to our front entrance, each 7" tall.
  • If stairs present a barrier to you, we have a shallow ramp to a second entrance around the back of the building.

Wheels:
  • For those with back or spine concerns, we have 2 standing wheels at the studio. These may be used standing up or with a tall stool depending on your comfort.

Other Accommodations:

The above list of accommodations is non-exhaustive. If you have an accessibility need that isn't listed above, please reach out to us at:
  • Email: membership (at) districtclaycenter.com
