The society we live in today is constantly in a rush, with most not taking the time to stop and appreciate life. When we fail to pause and notice the seemingly insignificant details of the world around us, we are robbing ourselves of meaningful thoughts and introspections. It is my goal to help with this habit by introducing handmade objects into the rituals of daily life. Through my work, I hope that you will be able to touch, sense, and enjoy the everyday phenomena that we as a society so frequently overlook. , etc

Much of my work relies in the interplay of fire and glaze. Using my training as a Scientific Illustrator I'm loosely interpreting images from the natural world, allowing the marks to respond to, and echo the form.

Karen McGady
Spending half my childhood in Europe has informed my artistic perspectives and outlook. Trained as an engineer, I think in 3D and have found sculpture is a natural way for me to express my artistic vision. Because clay is so malleable, it is one of my preferred media for expression in three dimensional work. Clay is, as well, a meditative exercise, and often results in functional ware along with the occasional sculpture. As such, I am always open to commissioned work, both for functional pottery and for sculptural work.

Camille Morin
From a young age I felt an affinity for clay. One early remembrance is passing time at my grandmother's house in Hendersonville, NC making animals out of modeling clay and rollerskating in her long driveway overlooking a country farm.
In 1998 I earned a BFA in Fine Art/Ceramics at the University of Tennessee. From school I went on to work within several studios, investigating glaze and form, until finally adding image through print transfers. Influences include George Ohr, Lucie Rie, Beatrice Wood, Georges de Feure.
In 2015, 4 years after returning to clay following a 4 year roller derby pottery hiatus, I registered my business Belle Epoque Pottery, wrote a business plan, and left working full time to strive for partial self-sufficiency through clay. In September 2016 I created and installed "Stone Flow", a ceramic floor sculpture for Toyota America's Office of Government Affairs which took four months to create and over 1000 slip cast rocks. I continue developing my tableware and giftware as "everyday" art, convincing people that handmade is within their means and worth replacing their mass manufactured goods with.

Patricia Nelson
My body of work investigates the way we experience space, objects and our surroundings, attempting to bring light to what goes unnoticed in our environment. Influenced by my roots - being born in the Midwest and spending most of my youth in the Deep South - I am autobiographically motivated, while exploring broader issues of the use of space and the politics of noticing. I am drawn to decay, disrepair, the overlap of the industrial over domestic space, the intersection of technology, the found and the handmade, and conflicting materials and images that reflect the breakdown in contemporary society.
