INTENSIVE 4/17 : Pattern Drafting for the Potter & Sculptor with Vicki Lynn Wilson
Add a new technique to your tool kit for making pottery and sculpture and improve your designs, time management and consistency in your ceramics.
Pattern drafting is the technique of making a flat pattern from a dimensional object and reproducing dimensions using flat materials. It is used most commonly in clothing construction but is an exceptional skill to be used with clay slabs.
In this session you will learn to make a flat pattern from a complex object. Use your flat pattern to construct a clay copy similar to the original! Once you understand the basics of pattern drafting, no form will seem too difficult. Some objects will be provided to make patterns from but, please, bring an object that interests you if you like.
Wed 4/17, 6:30-9 pm. Materials included. Max 12 students, 16 and older.
