ONLINE PAPERCLAY WORKSHOP WITH REBECCA HUTCHINSON, Nov 19-21, $425
We're excited. One of most popular workshops* - Paperclay with Rebecca Hutchinson - is back!
During this online workshop, master ceramicist and teacher Rebecca Hutchinson will introduce you to the amazing and dynamic world of paper clay while also working with students to develop their personal creative voice. Using multiple paperclay elements, including found objects, you will create a personal sculptural piece while sharpening your conceptual approach. No previous clay experience is required.
Demonstrations will include mixed media preparation and ceramic building techniques (assemblage, casting, weaving, slip trailing and paperclay mache).
The workshop will be balanced between material collection, demo watching, discussion of multiples and personal studio construction time. Plenty of work time and breaks are included during each day.
Taking this workshop is easy. All you need is 25 lbs of clay and a roll of toilet paper and the ability to connect through the interactive ZOOM meeting app**. A short additional materials list will be sent prior to the workshop. Options for both kiln and non-kiln (home) firings will be reviewed.

*Jon Kerr, one of DCC's top teachers, took Rebecca's workshop and commented:
Rebecca's workshop was one of the best teaching experiences I have had. She is a consummate teacher. Her workshop is just the right mix of teaching,
demonstrating and having students do their own work. Along with her assistant, she uses small group breakout sessions on the zoom platform very effectively. I still hear praise for Rebecca’s workshop from students who took it back in May. Take this workshop!
**Zoom is a free two way interactive meeting app that Rebecca uses for her classes at Dartmouth. It can be accessed by a laptop, tablet or other device. Students will be sent a meeting code to sign in with.
