Decorating Workshop with Jill: CREATE A PERSONAL LIBRARY OF DECORATING TECHNIQUES, 4 sessions, Sun 12-3 6/27, 7/11, 18 & 25
Our most popular online class is coming home to the District Clay Studio!
During this 4-session master class, you’ll learn a host of new decorative techniques as you explore the art of ornament with advanced teacher Jill Ross Meltzer. Using tiles, you will explore different decorating techniques each week. By workshop’s end, you will have created a permanent library of tiles, with each decorating technique illustrated on a separate tile and available, anytime, for quick reference.
The workshop will focus on greenware decoration. We’ll look at slip techniques, such as sgraffito, mishma, and slip trailing, as well as different approaches to resist decoration, comparing wax, paper, and fabric. Finally, we’ll experiment with combining different techniques to add depth and complexity to your pot’s surface.
Finished tiles can later be mounted for easy reference.
