Corporate Teambuilding Events

A DCC Handbuilding Event stirs creative juices, presents interesting design choices and requires quick decision-making.
A DCC Wheel Event spurs focus and concentration, is fast paced and challenging and offers some interesting choices.

Whatever your choice is, we can assure you that you and your team members will have fun!  Larger groups or combined wheel/handbuilding events can also be scheduled - please contact Nicole Ponce at manager(at)districtclaycenter.com for more information.

We offer these parties on weekday afternoons, Monday & Thursday mornings and Saturday nights.  We typically need around 4 weeks advance notice to schedule a party.

COVID-19 entry requirements:  When booking an event, the organizer must certify that all participants have received the first 2 shots of the COVID- vaccine.

Corporate Handbuilding Event

During this hand-building event, each person will go on their own creative adventure.  You will be taught one or more of the following hand-building techniques:  Pinch, coil or slab-building depending on what you want to create.

You will be using Air Dry Clay which does not require firing and means you can take your creation home with you.  (Air Dry clay is not suitable for use with food.)

In the process, you will learn basic handbuilding skills including using a variety of clay tools for decorating and texturing.

This event is guaranted to spur creative juices, present interesting design choices and to teach basic clay building techniques all in a fun team setting.

This event offers multiple teambuilding opportunities including making quick creative decisions, working creatively within a group and gaining a deeper appreciation of each team member's unique creative approach.

This event comes with a specially designed TeamBuilding Discussion Guide that participants can use if they wish.

Corporate Wheel Event

Working on the pottery wheel is fun . . . and challenging.  It requires eye to hand coordination, careful placement of your hands and firm control over a rapidly spinning wheel.  Don't expect to make a perfect pot.  But you will be thrilled when you cause a cylinder to rise out of a solid lump of clay using your own two hands.

This event is designed to spur focus and concentration, expose people to a challenging and possibly frustrating situation (working on the wheel) and to confront a situation where the imperfect is the only possible result (it is difficult to  make a perfect pot on your first try.)

This event offers multiple teambuilding opportunities including allowing participants to confront their own expectations and limitations in a safe fun-filled group environment.

This event comes with a specially designed TeamBuilding Discussion Guide that participants can use if they wish.
