For District Clay's first 2022 juried show, we are looking for your best smokeware! Current District Clay artists, students, and teachers are encouraged to make smoking-hot pottery in the coming weeks to submit for the exhibition. Smokeware can be interpreted in a broad sense - your pottery submission can be utilitarian smoking-ware (pots for smoking from) *or* smoke-fired ware (raku-fired pots).
Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Best Smoking-Ware, and Best Smoke-Fired Ware. To apply, you must be a current DCC artist, student or teacher. Submissions may include any smokeware you've made with District Clay, past or present. This includes pottery fired in one of District Clay's raku firings with Ray Bogle or Thien Nguyen! Submissions will be juried by Creative Director Connor Czora, Studio Director Jon Kerr, and Glaze Manager Julia Hurst. Timeline, 2022:
